Hasip Akıncı, the founder and director of our school, was born in 1908 in Vidin, a small town in Bulgaria. In Vidin, he received training of basketry which is a branch of crafts and learnt the basic technics of this art. In 1923, one day when he was gonig to Göztepe by horse drawn trolley, on top of a hill he saw a church with campaniels. This church had been abandoned after being used as the first school by Greeks and Turks. Hasip Akıncı looked over church and its auxiliary buildings and decided to open a school in these buildings.

 In 1927 after being added the department of hat design, the school's name was changed as "BASKET FLOWER-HAT SCHOOL AND FACTORY". In 1931 it was converted into "BASKET-FLOWER-HAT ARTS MIDDLE SCHOOL" and its educatşonal duration was determined as 3 academic years. The school started to operate in the 1931-1932 academic year. With the directives of Atatürk the ministry took the decision of opening an institute for girls. On the basis of this decision the school's name called "BASKET-FLOWER-HAT ARTS MIDDLE SCHOOL" was changed to "CUMHURIYET ARTS INSTITUTE FOR GIRLS". APART FROM 1923, THE OPERATIONS REALIZED IN OUR SCHOOL'S ORDER WORKSHOP HAVE UNDERLED THE ACTUAL MATURATION INSTITUTES AND "METGE" PROJECT.

A playschool was opened in the 1969-1970 academic year within our school. Since on 13th of March in 1975 the institutes for girls were converted into vocational high school for girls, our school's name was changed as "CUMHURIYET VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS". ın the 2000-2001 academic year, NEVVAR SALİH İŞGÖREN TEXTLIES SCHOOL, CUMHURİYET ANATOLIAN VOCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL AND 100.YEARS TECHNICAL EDUCATION FOR GIRLS MATURATION INSTITUTE were gathered under unique directory and our school's name was changed as REPUBLIC OF TURKEY PROVINCE OF İZMİR KONAK CUMHURIYET N.S.İŞGÖREN ANATOLIAN VOCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL AND 100. YEARS TECHNICAL EDUCATION FOR GIRLS MATURATION INSTITUTE. As can be seen, our school's history and the history of Republic of Turkey progressed together and our school was established by the commands and support was established by MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK. Presently, it continues its training in accordance with Atatürk's principles and revolutions.
